Capiz Provincial Tourism Office If there is one office at the Capiz provincial capitol that has been keeping itself so busy since last year, it’s no other than the Capiz Provincial Tourism Office. With no less than the indefatigable and restless Al Tesoro at the helm, with his equally hardworking staff, the tourism office has been in the forefront in all practically tourism and culture-related activities of the province. In fact, there appears to be no let up in the holding of such activities since the assumption of Governor Victor Tanco into the post. To his credit, Tanco as well as his department heads has been very much supportive of all the tourism-related endeavors mounted by Tesoro and his staff. Slowly and surely, Capiceños, it seems, are seeing the beauty and importance of their cultural heritage, particularly in helping "sell" the Capiz province not only to foreign but also to domestic tourists. It also helps that the National Commission for Culture and the Arts has very supportive of all the local tourism office undertakings. Its’ good that Sir Tesoro is maximizing his "connection" with the NCCA for the welfare and advantage of culture and the arts sector in captivating Capiz.    Capiz Festivals   inadya sa Halaran is a merging of the Roxas City Fiesta "Sinadya" and the Province celebration of "Halaran". "Sinadya sa Halaran" is a commemoration of the feast of the patroness of Roxas City which is the Immaculate Concepcion and a thanksgiving. It literally means "Joy in Sharing and Thanksgiving" . Rituals and festivities of every municipalities where captivated in this occasion. Fireworks, grand parade, fluvial processions, fair and food festival, street dancing, and exhibits are some of the things to see of this event.

Travel and Transportation

ravel time to Roxas City is 45 minutes by plane and around 16 hours by ship from Manila. From Iloilo City, it is approximately 2 hours by bus or private car. It will take approximately 4 hours travel going to Boracay Island by land. There are two (2) airlines operating in Roxas City (RXS): Philippine Airlines (PAL)  and Cebu Pacific have a daily schedule flight from Roxas-Manila and Manila-Roxas. There is one passenger ship operating in Culasi Port, Roxas city, Capiz: Moreta Shipping Lines’ M/V Love 1 which embarks for Capiz twice a week. There are also ferryboats that travel from Romblon and Masbate and also Roll-on Roll-off (ro-ro) Busses that treks through Capiz. The primary transportation vehicle used in Roxas City and other municipalities in Capiz is the tricycle. With an eight-peso fare per passenger for the first two kilometers (Minimum)  and 50 centavos for succeeding kilometers the tricycle would get you to your destination within the city or municipality in no time at all.  Jeepneys rule the province’s highways transporting passengers and cargo from one municipality to another. And then there is the "Capiz Cab", the city's new taxi that plies the streets of Roxas City and the 16 municipalities of Capiz with a flag down rate of thirty pesos and a maximum capacity of 5 passengers. Capiz Cabs are the first receipt-issuing, metered taxis in the Philippines apart from those operating out of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
